 Firehouse Cultural Center, 101 1st Ave NE, Ruskin FL Laura Lee Smith’s first novel, Heart of Palm, was released by Grove Press in April 2013. Her short fiction was selected by guest editor Amy Hempel for inclusion in New Stories from the South: The Year’s Best, 2010. Her work has also appeared in The Florida Review, Natural Bridge, Bayou and other journals. She has taught creative writing at Flagler College and works as an advertising copywriter. This is a short story writing class taught by Laura Smith. November 5th, Laura Smith will be signing copies of her book, Heart of Palm, FREE for library card holders! |

Fundamentals of Drawing. A multi-level class for anyone who would like to explore or enhance their drawing skills.
Whether you are new to art-making or are looking for a class to help solidify these basic skills. We will focus on line and mass, organic and geometric shape-making, and the depiction of volume. March 2 – April 6, 2021.
Learn the basics of how to form clay through pinching, coil building, and working with slabs. Combine these forming methods together to make some fun shapes! Students should expect to make several pieces using these techniques. With introduction of wheel throwing. Clay, tools, glazing and firing included. Thursdays: 9:30am – 11:30am Adults.
