Learn about sustainability and conservation; try new, fresh foods and recipes. We will also grow plants for eating, cooking, creating, and sharing in the new FCC garden. We’ll experiment with a wide variety of veggies, herbs and flowers growing in everything from straw bales to tires to homemade garden beds. Digging in the dirt and caring for plants is a wonderful way to have fun, learn and connect to each other and our shared natural world.

During the Firehouse Cultural Center’s “Spring Forward” Writers Week, novelist Laura Lee Smith
will meet with TEN (10) aspiring writers to discuss excerpts from their work. Private manuscript
consultations will offer writers of any skill level the opportunity to connect with an experienced
reader, writer, and teacher, and to receive Smith’s feedback on strengths and opportunities for
improvement in their work.

A call to all aspiring writers out there. Laura Lee Smith will be at the Firehouse for a full week of writing events. Including manuscript consultations and Free book signing with Q & A. Teacher Institute: Creative Writing & Publication workshop will help with ideas and help on your path to publication. Celebration Reading will allow a consultation with Ms. Smith to identify strong segments from your work.

La Lucha is a Tampa Bay based trio of three best friends from three different parts of the world: Colombia, Mexico, and the United States. Their repertoire is a diverse mixture of Latin-inspired rhythms with jazz standards, twisted arrangements of pop songs, and original compositions. Tonight they bring special guest James Suggs on trumpet.

Ken Miller was a previous winner of “Florida’s Funniest Comedian” competition and this will be his first time at the Firehouse. Also featuring a former barkeep from Manchester, CT, Myke Herlihy now takes his bartender’s wit to the stage. His ability to find the funny in any situation has made him a favorite in venues throughout the country.
