Projects include: Pinch pot pumpkins and a slab Halloween mobile. Bisque after the first two classes, glaze the third, and assembly for the mobile on the fourth. High School Age Teen Metalsmithing. You will saw, file, texture and rivet on silver, copper, and brass. Emphasis will be texturing & riveting metals together, creating your unique jewelry. Various techniques will be demonstrated. You will make a finished piece of jewelry of either a pendant or earrings. All materials supplied. Sat., Sept. 17, 10:00 am – noon.

During the Firehouse Cultural Center’s “Spring Forward” Writers Week, novelist Laura Lee Smith will meet with TEN (10) aspiring writers to discuss excerpts from their work. Private manuscript consultations will offer writers of any skill level the opportunity to connect with an experienced reader, writer, and teacher, and to receive Smith’s feedback on strengths and opportunities for improvement in their work.
