 Firehouse Cultural Center, 101 1st Ave NE, Ruskin FL WUSF, Community Foundation Tampa Bay, and the Firehouse Cultural Center proudly announce a special event focused on hurricane preparedness for the 2025 season. This free jazz concert and conversation will feature music by Bryan Hughes and the Crew, the USF Jazztet Trio, and an insightful discussion led by the WUSF news team. The Dog Days Poetry Workshop will allow participants to craft and respond to poems that “beat the heat.” That is, we’ll be reading and writing poems about all things cold. Through the use of intensely frigid imagery, writers will get a short respite from August in Florida. Led by Poet John Davis Jr.
