The Hamilton Harris Project

The Hamilton Harris Project was formed in 2003. The band, an offshoot from the successful Swinging Johnson’s band, was assembled by the co-leaders of the Johnsons – Tom “TBone” Hamilton and guitarist Dan Harris. They added Michael Johnn Aloia on keyboard and B3, drummer standout Ken Loomer, and songstress Marilyn Freemon.
Laura Smith — Short Story Writing Class

Laura Lee Smith’s first novel, Heart of Palm, was released by Grove Press in April 2013. Her short fiction was selected by guest editor Amy Hempel for inclusion in New Stories from the South: The Year’s Best, 2010. Her work has also appeared in The Florida Review, Natural Bridge, Bayou and other journals. She has taught creative writing at Flagler College and works as an advertising copywriter. This is a short story writing class taught by Laura Smith. November 5th, Laura Smith will be signing copies of her book, Heart of Palm, FREE for library card holders!

In the desolate borderlands of the American Southwest, hundreds of undocumented immigrants die every year while attempting to cross into the United States from Mexico. Inresponse, volunteers are caching water supplies along the migratory trails and others are imagining cell phones running geo-poetic trail-finding software promising to lead migrants to water. Through the voices of those who have crossed, those who have failed, and those who are trying to prevent more deaths, a complex picture of the immigration crisis emerges.

Craig Hartfield, the most critically acclaimed Bari-Tenor in Tampa Bay is bringing his favorite Broadway numbers to the Firehouse Pub stage. But the audience will choose the numbers! Every song a show-stopper and every show a gem! Hartfield has been performing musically and theatrically for 30 years. Some of his most notable roles include Don Quixote in Man of La Mancha, Father in Children of Eden, Nathan in Guys and Dolls, Pseudolus in A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum and Albert in Bye, Bye, Birdie.
