An Evening With Booker T. Washington:
a Historical Portrayal by Lance Felton
Join Us for an Educational Experience
In 1912, the educator and activist Booker T. Washington stopped in Tampa on a Florida speaking tour, where he saw a city divided. In previous years, local and state legislation barred African Americans from political participation, which enforced segregation on trains, streetcars, and other public accommodations. At the Tampa Hotel and Casino one evening, he brought together black, white, and Latin populations all in one location. Join us for an evening of EDUCATION.
Booker T. Washington is portrayed by Lance Felton.
